REGION 40, LIBERTARIAN PARTY NEWSLETTER, MAY 98

Dear Fellow Freedom Lovers:

First: Our last meeting on Wednesday, April 08, 1998 was very interesting. We had three guest speakers who are running for candidates for the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors: Marquis Miller, A.J. "Katcho" Achadjian, and Anthony Azevedo. The debates were lively and stimulating.

Second: Protest: On Wednesday April 15, 1998, we had a confrontational protest of income taxes. We began our activities in front of the main post office on Marsh Street in San Luis Obispo, CA., at 4:00 P.M. We then moved to the other San Luis Obispo post office at 1655 Dalidio Dr., and continued until we exhausted ourselves. We had good media coverage by the Telegram Tribune. Thanks to all who participated.

Third: Meeting Dates. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at 7:00 P.M., in the Golden China Restaurant, 1085 Higuera St., San Luis Obispo, CA. We will have two more candidates for the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors, Orrin Cocks and Tom Murray speak and answer questions. Please come and join in the fireworks.

Fourth: We will have our business meetings on Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Linns, Marsh and Chorro, San Luis Obispo, at 7:00 P.M. All are welcome.

Regular Business and Dinner meeting notes
April 08, 1998

    Each candidate gave a five-minute speech, followed by questions from the audience. Then each candidate answered general questions from the audience. Finally, each candidate gave a closing statement.

    Those attending were: Howard Dilbeck, Gary Kirkland, Dick Venable, David Bersohn, Ed Moss, Cheri Hulgar, Donna Hunt, Katcho Achadjian, Anthony Azevedo, Emanda Miller, Marquis "Marq" Miller.
